We are on the earth plane for two reasons. First, we are here to play a role in the evolution of humankind on a universal level. Second, we have made a pact within ourselves to evolve on a personal level. These two goals are decidedly interconnected and cannot be separated; like the lunar pull on the tides here on Earth, our soul pulls our current personality forward.

DEPTH ASTROLOGY

The human form is the ultimate vehicle for evolving the soul. Evolving the soul is a lifelong process of learning to use our free will with intelligence and compassion. This process of learning we call life, brings joy and pain, suffering and release.

I believe that each of us creates our own reality every minute of every day, thereby determining our own future. To create a happy and productive life, we must incorporate spiritual wisdom into our daily routine. Astrology is one of the best tools for deepening self-knowledge through integrative personal insight.

We envisioned an astrological practice that would respect a persons ability to know their own answers and facilitate self-referencing, self-determination and empowerment.

Evolutionary Astrology describes this kind of process.

Evolution and Depth Astrology, which I believe accurately reflects our intention to enable both clients and students to view astrology as a tool to deepen one's experience of life and evolve into and open a doorway to soulfulness and oneness; ultimately leading to a deepened ascension and response-ability for the condition of our world.

Depth Astrology acknowledges astrology's potential kinship with depth psychology in theory and in practice. It has been enlivened and modernized by the mythopoeic insights of Freud, Jung and Hillman.

I combine humanistic, psychological, evolutionary and depth astrological perspectives in our readings:

I have practiced Astrology and Tarot all my life, and teach both disciplines. Our unique readings offer a chance to dive deeply into important issues, discovering and transforming old patterning and past/current life trauma that can hinder the experience of a full and joyous life.

Our work is an effective mix of psycho-spiritual insight and practical guidance. Astrology is a great tool to uncover the deeper reasons for your existence in this time, in your body, and how to best use this great gift of human life.

I work mostly with others who strive for wholeness though conscious achievement. Rarely do I work with people who wish to to be "told their future", or are looking "for a decision-maker".

Our work is based on the premise that if you change your present you change your future and past. In the words of Maharishi Mahesh Yogi," The world is a field of all possibilities." It is our job to learn how to sow that field from the depths of our soul and harvest wholeness and joy for all sentient beings.

As we struggle with personal evolution, our thoughts and actions seep into the universal soul and affect everyone and everything on Earth and indeed, in our entire Solar system (perhaps beyond).

While working on personal evolution consciously, the soul is simultaneously working on a higher plane for the greater good.

Although the soul is embedded in the current incarnation, it has memories and ways of being that may not feel comfortable to the current personality until some growth has occurred. It is my belief that the soul is in constant contact with both the source of all being and with all other souls. It moves freely through time and space, making contact and searching for answers, particularly while we sleep. As we evolve personally, we gain more access to the knowledge of our soul and thus, more access to the knowledge of other souls and the universe itself. We may begin to form relationships we would have never considered previously and we may begin looking to other beings who are more 'aware' for guidance.

The importance of physical beauty begins to lose its hold on us as we begin to see the beauty in everything and everyone, and more importantly, we look beyond the wounded facades that others present and see the light of their being. Even in the darkest pits of despair, we are consciously aware of the light. Continuing on a path of growth, we will begin to embrace the hard times as simply patterns of evolution and recognize that we 'need' this difficult situation so that we may refine our soul.

Life's circular motion reminds us that we need the dark and the light to be whole. Through this work, we develop traits of the Aquarian. We become humanitarians and spread our love far and wide. The concept of brotherhood becomes well understood as we journey along our path.

Karmic astrology is a step beyond the astrology most people associate with the artistic science. Astrology is basically a title for a collection of various studies that utilize astrological information.

The astrology most people are familiar with, often termed 'conventional astrology' is basically what I call personality astrology. Using the birthchart, an astrologer looks at the person you are now and may give some information and advice on how to use your gifts while minimizing your liabilities.

Karmic astrology is looking at the past--who you were, or the type of person you could have been--and showing you how you came to be the person you are now. It helps you understand the "why" in such questions as "Why am I so fearful of change" or "Why do I have such difficulty committing in relationship." The list of Why's can get very long! When a person is ready to tackle these questions, they are accepting the challenges of evolution.

A Karmic Reading/Consultation is not for the light-hearted; it is for the person who is ready to know and ready to move forward. Knowing about your past can propel you headlong into the future.

You must be ready! Upon discussing your karma, you may or may not be surprised. If you are quite evolved with deep knowledge of the self, you will likely silently nod your head in agreement. If you have been blocking out or repressing parts of the psyche, you may very well feel shocked at some of the revelations. Sometimes a person may say to him or herself "This is not my past! How can this be me!" and it is months (or years!) down the road before their current personality is ready to accept the work ahead.

In my practice, I have rarely come upon this response and it is a sign of a person prematurely asking for answers they are not ready to receive. I can often sense this upon first contact and I have to use my personal judgment as to how much I should divulge to these individuals. Most of the people I counsel and work with are ready to tackle karma.

The general response is some amazement and self-acceptance and a deep, intuitive knowing. Others suddenly feel free, as if they are floating in an ocean of understanding. These are the ones I feel I have helped the most. They are ready to move forward and yet can't see through the fog on their own. My insights pinpoint the areas they could not see--or they could see but for some reason couldn't accept without outside affirmation.

Karma is a system of checks and balances. It is not necessarily good or bad--it just is. We've accumulated both aspects of karma in our journey and will continue to do so as we navigate the maze of evolution. What we are trying to achieve is an ultimate balance that will free our soul from this plane.

We are all dark and light. We all have the potential to be whole, and this means we all have the potential to accept who we are and we all have the power to create the life we want and need. It may not happen in this life, but as long as we are striving continually to become that vision of who we want to be, we will be fulfilling the path most suitable for our growth. Listen to your intuition--it knows much more than many of us give it credit for. Our intuition is our link to ourself, and our link to the universal.


Evolutionary Astrology


Evolutionary Astrology is based on the understanding that life is essentially based on the requirement to evolve. Evolution consists of increasing consciousness about the nature of existence we are born into. The fact that the phenomenon of evolution exists implies that no living being has reached complete consciousness.

Existence is supported by spiritual/natural laws, and only in assimilating these laws can we live in health, productivity, and satisfaction, materially, psychologically and spiritually; these laws are the Truth. Everyone is subject to those spiritual laws, but most people are not aware of it; they simply follow mechanically external expectations and internal hunger.

It is important to differentiate between natural/spiritual laws, and man-made laws. Man-made laws are the foundations of societies; these laws are the relative human understanding of what life is about, as opposed to the spiritual/natural laws which are the Truth operating with or without human understanding.

The man-made laws are legitimate as long as they are not taken as absolute and are modified as evolution proceeds. The intention in man-made laws is to ultimately fuse totally with spiritual laws.

A primary spiritual law implies that each living being has to become personally conscious of the Truth, instead of remaining nonchalant or relying on others to do so. Hostility, problems, and challenges urge each one to leave the womb of innocence and make efforts to develop consciousness.

If a being remains innocent it is either invaded by parasites, or devoured by predators. One cannot survive long in a state of innocence without protection, just as a baby cannot survive without the care of a parent. As innocence decreases, consciousness increases.

People from all places and times try to find the Truth. Every cookbook, every argument with a parent, every session with the psychologist, every scientific research, every war and every religion is about trying to figure out what is the Truth; how we should live, what is right, what works.

Knowing the Truth is knowing Life, and no one on earth knows the totality of it. Some know more, some fail continuously at getting it, most think they figured it all, but basically, everyone is in that same school - the evolutionary journey of the soul - and the main teacher is Life.

The soul is a life force inside every being that exists beyond the limitations of time and space. From it originates the deep need to know more of the Truth and harmonize completely with Life. The process of the evolution of the soul extends over numerous lifetimes. The soul enters time and space and incarnates, in order to work on its evolution, and learns more about life, each time from a different angle.

In each incarnation it adopts an Ego, an identity, and through this identity it adapts to the current environment. In each incarnation there are conditions, stressful and supportive, that promote evolution. Nothing in life is random, every single experience and circumstance serves the soul's purpose of evolution.

Evolutionary Astrology consists of using an astrological birth-chart to identify the individual's position in the development of consciousness. Through it, it is possible to trace what the soul carries from past lives, and accordingly, the evolutionary lessons for this life.

This discipline is relatively new on the planet. It has been developed in the last decades, and has revolutionized the whole field of Astrology.

This perspective offers deep understanding about the reasons for being born in a particular family, the reasons for attracting certain people into one's life, the reasons for failure and success, because nothing is accidental. Through Evolutionary Astrology it is possible on the one hand to understand further the spiritual meaning for life, and on the other hand to get very concrete advice in all areas of life, be it relationships, profession, children, self-development, and so on.

From this point of view, Astrology ceases to be a tool for predictions, but instead it serves as a means to identify and analyze cycles in the life of the individual and the collective. It is now a toolto explore the complexity of the psyche, and to help each individual use his/her resources in a more beneficial way.


Jungian Astrology


Astrology, in its ancient or traditional form, illustrates the working of what Jung called "synchronicity," or "the meaningful coincidence or conjunction of events". Unlike the popular ‘sun-sign’ astrology of newspaper columns, Astrology is, in fact, based on all the planets and the Moon, not just the Sun.

A horoscope (a natal chart) is a map of the heavens at the exact moment of your birth, at the location of your birth. It is like a photograph of the sky with all the Celestial bodies -- the Sun, Moon and planets -- in their respective positions.

In real astrology, everything is taken into account: the positions of the planets within the Zodiac, as well as their relation to each other and to the Sun and Moon.

The specific placements and interrelationship of the various planetary bodies are, for the astrologer, important sources of information about the person’s general make-up: their strength(s), weakness(es), tendencies and challenges.

In the 20th century, Astrology as a whole underwent dynamic modernization and rejuvenation. Yet for me, the excitement of astrological interpretation beckoned only when I ‘found’ Jungian Astrology.

As might be expected, this is a branch of Astrology that interprets planetary patterns from a psychological point of view: a Jungian point of view. That lends a whole new dimension to the reading of astrological elements.

The ‘process’ nature of reality is emphasized, rather than the ‘fixed’ nature of phenomena. Even when we talk about the predictive aspect of the Jungian Astrology reading, the emphasis is on the processes the individual is confronted with: not "will it be a difficult period/job/relationship", but "what will it be like to go through this period, get this job, commit to this relationship?

What specific tests and lessons will be present? Which aspects of myself will be stretched to the utmost?" Simultaneously, we look at the astrological elements to discover what processes would best meet the issues or concerns.

For example, if the astrological chart indicates that the person’s capacity to achieve success is hemmed in by his/her fears of speaking up for themselves, we look for what talents or strengths could be called on in order to decrease that fear, or provide a counterbalance. Is there an ability to write (rather than speak...)?

It could be encouraged to come forth, so that a career might open up where none seemed possible. Is there a capacity to work with one’s hands? Let the person develop it and create a niche where speaking is secondary and so on. Obstacles can now be seen as gateways or opportunities, and limitations can now be viewed as challenges that can lead to growth. Nothing is written in stone!

Furthermore, Jungian Astrology pays special attention to the Trans-Personal planets Uranus, Pluto and Neptune, planets which have been discovered only within the last 150 years. We carefully study the Trans-Personal trends, concerns and opportunities indicated by the placements and transits of these planets. They provide an important backdrop to the individual’s exploration of how life may be enriched. Knowing what is going on Trans-Personally often makes us aware of important and powerful currents that we can capitalize on in making life more satisfying and joy-producing.

As you can see from the nature and quality of our training, the primary concern in each and every form of our coaching and consulting is to discover what old habits of thinking and acting stand in the way of your attaining full satisfaction and enjoyment in your life.

We use the Astrological reading to open your eyes to new and richer insights about yourself, your situation, and the dilemmas or concern in which you are involved at the moment. Then we look for the possible steps, actions and new patterns of response that might open up the situation. The emphasis will be on coaching you toward formulating new alternatives and new ways of looking at things.

Our astrological reading is not likely, therefore, to resemble any traditional astrological reading you have ever had. My hope and goal is to leave you, at the end of a reading, or at the end of a series of readings, or at the end of a coaching module, with a greater freedom to act and to express yourself, capable of dealing with old as well as new challenges in fresh, unfamiliar and more satisfying manners.
