Sometimes an Astrologer looks at a chart and just winces. Such is the case with Angelina Jolie. There's a lot of pain in this chart as well as great, great gifts.

Born June 4th, 1975 at 9:09am in Los Angeles, CA, Angelina is Cancer rising, a Gemini Sun and Aries Moon. Cancer's are quite caring and quite loving. They need to mother something! Whether it be their pets, their children, their parents, their spouses. Cancer is about nurturing and caring for others. And they're fiercely protective of their homes and family, somewhat moody when they feel threatened.

Couple that with an Aries Moon. She's a warrior when someone she loves is being attacked. She's a warrior period, but we'll get to that later. The Moon in the chart represents mother as well. The Moon is situated at the top of the chart, conjunct Jupiter and Mars in Aries! Mom was very impuslive, child-like, did as she pleased and felt the world revolved around her. Angies parents would've had spectacular fights and to say they didn't get along?

Well that's just so much understatement as the Moon and Saturn are square, and conjunct the angles. In her mind, her father was dreadful to her mother and I think Angie became her "champion" so to speak. That stellium of Chiron, Jupiter, the Moon and Mars, all conjunct her Midheavan is a HUGE gift. Guaranteeing her rise to stardom. The bad news? It all squares Saturn in the 12th house.

A 12th house Saturn is an extremely difficult and painful placement of a difficult planet in and of itself. Saturn in the chart represents the father. That Saturn sits in the 12th house indicates there are secrets Angie's holding her tongue about regarding Dad. It looks like he was quite abusive to her Mom. And probably in a rough way--as Aries is no namby-pamby sign. That Saturn sits in Cancer means she still loves her father and may, at some time, later in life be responsible for an ill and confined father.

I believe the square from Saturn in the 12th house to the stellium on her Midheavan means that she's driven to succeed to spite her father and support her mother. Kind of like, "we don't need you". It could also mean that her father disapproved of her choice of careers as well--maybe both. Whatever went on between her parents hurt her very, very deeply.

Now Angelina has the Sun in Gemini, in the 11th house, right there with Mercury. Mercury is communication, the 11th house is Humanitarianism and the Sun is our life goal, our mission on earth, so to speak. Taurus, the money sign is on the cusp of the 11th house, indicating she's also put some of her wealth to work in humanitarian regards.

Gemini Sun's are curious, changeable, easily bored, quick-minded. Which is a great segue into her intellect. Wow! Nice mind. Mercury in his own sign adds much strength and retrograde improves her memory. Mercury's other sign rules the 3rd house of the intellect as well! And if that weren't enough, Pluto sits there as well. Angelina has a strong and probing mind. No one will be pulling the wool over her eyes.

She'll see right through them. Pluto in the 3rd can also mean an obsession about death, perhaps thoughts of suicide at least at some time in her life. Why suicide and not someone else? Pluto is in Libra, and Venus sits on her Ascendant, ruler of her physical body. Speaking of Venus, the Goddess of Beauty Planet sits on her ascendant within minutes. No surprise she is a great beauty.

Being beautiful isn't always wonderful and some women incarnate to find out just how difficult it is to be beautiful. Angelina has Uranus squaring her Ascendant with 5 minutes. Extremely tight. It also squares Chiron. Squares always indicate conflict and since Uranus rules her 8th house, I think she's angry at how people evaluate her. She wants to be seen as her own person, unique and individual and that can take a bizarre turn sometimes.

Since these points sit in Cancer, the Moon must be involved as well and the Moon/Jupiter/Mars/Chiron conjunction sit opposite Pluto. Angelina would've attracted attention and had some very inappropriate attention, probably starting around 11-ish or so. There has been much speculation regarding a relationship between her and her brother. And this chart would indicate that her deepest wounding of her life has been in this area. Enough said.

Let's hit that Stellium near her Midheavan, which is the biggest stuff in her chart. Wow! Jupiter conjunct the Midheavan within minutes! Jupiter is the greater beneficent and just about guarantees her a big career. A stellium in Aries means Angelina does exactly as she pleases and she can be quite a handful and self-centered at times.

Lest you think she's a self-centered person? Not at all. Most of her planets are elevated and an 11th house Sun and Cancer rising? She's quite "other centered". She will demonstrate will and self-centeredness in reaching her goals. Aries just will not be put off.

O.K. This stellium sits in Aries and opposes Pluto. Oppositions attract. Aries/Libra is the relationship axis. She must be very careful about attracting abusive, controlling--even violent men into her life. Why? Saturn sits in a t-square with this stellium-Mars opposition.

It looks like that's what she saw between her parents. A very abusive relationship. Saturn is a tough planet, but combine it with that tough 12th house placement and ruling her 7th house of marriage? Ouch! Finding happiness in marriage will be a real challenge for her. She's going to tend toward marrying her father and trying to recreate and rectify that relationship.

We all do this unconsiously, try to recreate the past and fix it and we all invariably fail at this...So let's look at her 5th house of romance. Tough stuff there too, as that afflicted Pluto rules her 5th house. Domination, control, power will always be big issues when she's dating someone. That Pluto opposes the midheavan means she'll meet most of her lovers through her work.

An exceptionally beautiful, exceptionally intelligent, exceptionally talented, wealthy young woman with great gifts. Sounds great doesn't it? She was given it all. Yet with all these gifts, a good relationship eludes her. Why? Basically she's never seen one! All the wealth, beauty, talent and intelligence do not guarantee happiness. I think Angelina knows this and her at times, bizarre behavior, is an attempt to tell us all that. Angelina is tough as nails--and like most nails has been pounded alot.

I would counsel her to be very, very careful in who she gets involved with. Pluto opposing Mars on the relationship axis? Someone could really get hurt as Pluto/Mars combinations can be literally "murderous rage". Write a list of the qualities she would like in a man and the qualities she wants to avoid like the plague. Then do it. Really do it.

She'll probably still be attracted to the "bad guys" on a deeply unconscious level, but if she uses her awareness to stop it before it starts, I think Angelina really can have it all. She has a rare Mystic Rectangle. This indicates she can use this pain to transform herself and probably others as that 11th house Sun is involved as well as Neptune in the 5th house.
